Isfahan governor general praises MSC for reduced water consumption and better environmental conditions
At the same ceremony, Isfahan Governor General Rasoul Zargarpour described environmental issues as the biggest challenge faced by the provincial capital of Isfahan and said the focus of local industries on environmental issues helped them to be gradually taken off the list of polluting industries.
He further said the trend of sewage and wastewater being emptied into the Zayandehrood River, which is the only body of water in Iran's central plains, was alarming. The treatment of the water of this river helped somewhat ease our concerns, and today the water people use is healthy and clean.
The governor general went on to say that after our industries were accused of polluting the environment, they rolled up their sleeves and managed to cut water consumption. They also channeled a lot of money into areas which had to do with [the protection of] the environment. Mobarakeh Steel Company has made more investment and planning than other companies representing other industries.
He stated that the level of water consumption at Mobarakeh Steel Company has dropped by as much as 65 percent, adding Zob Ahan and other industries are following MSC's lead.
In conclusion, the governor general said that MSC is truly leading the way in cooperating with provincial officials in projects such as the Prayer Ground and Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium. Fortunately, MSC has contributed a lot to provincial development and its management should be hailed for their way of thinking.
