MSC eyes maximal supply to local markets, presence on global markets: Managing director

The managing director of Mobarakeh Steel Company says May Day is an opportunity to appreciate the selfless efforts of those toiling on production fronts across the country.
Dr. Bahram Sobhani further said that the designation of the current year by the Supreme Leader as year of Resistance-based Economy, Production and Employment has lent new meaning to Labor Day and drawn attention to those who strive on the production front.
“We need to keep in mind that economic prosperity becomes possible only when we pay attention to Iranian workforce and support local jobs, local workers, local production and local capital”, the managing director of the steel giant said.
He credited the steely determination of MSC staff for his company's successful implementation of targeted expansion projects and the overall progress on the production front. “Our staff has built on its endeavors and proper thinking to lead the march toward progress and development in society.”
Dr. Sobhani described the health and liveliness of workers as a necessity and said that timely job rotation is a perfect mechanism to maintain a robust workforce and help motivate the members of staff to make progress.
He called for swift implementation of expansion projects and said the stage has been set for MSC to meet the local need for steel products maximally and make its presence felt on global markets with quality products and competitive prices.
He urged those who are in charge of production, repairs and procurement to keep in mind that time is of the essence in the workings of the company and said in line with instructions everyone should complete the tasks they are entrusted with speedily and at the same time pay close attention to quality and competitive prices. “After all, Mobarakeh Steel Company is now a global brand which should be able to handle problems in times of difficulty.”
With regard to MSC's production hike and continuation of such increase into the future, Dr. Sobhani said when a unit registers a production hike, it needs to make sure the volume of waste it produces declines proportionately. “Otherwise the production hike that comes in parallel with an increase in waste imposes losses on the company. Let's not forget the fact that presence on global markets is only possible through quality products and competitive prices.”
Recalling the “very good measures” taken in the annealing furnaces of the Cold Rolling Plant, he said these changes will certainly cut energy consumption as well as the cost price; consequently, better quality products will find their way into the markets.
In conclusion, he expressed hope that swift completion of MSC expansion projects propels the country forward as it walks down the path of development.
