MSC granted PR Excellence Trophy


Mobarakeh Steel Company has been awarded a Public Relations Excellence award for its commitment to excellence and for walking down the path to excellence in line the specialized EFQM Excellence Model in public relations. The jury at a 6th ceremony to praise Iranian companies with excellent public relations gave MSC at least 780 points based on assessor evaluations. Iran’s giant steelmaker also garnered a six-star audit award in the same event.
Mohammed Nazemi Harandi, the Public Relations Manager of Mobarakeh Steel Company, appreciated the tireless efforts of MSC personnel for this achievement and said the current assessment of PR performance took the following into account: formulation of and abidance by an appropriate code of ethics; formulation of a strategic plan on intra-organizational and trans-organizational communications; participation in the decision making process for the organization; use of diverse intra-organizational and trans-organizational communication tools; promotion of the culture of excellence in the ranks of public relations personnel; promotion of the culture of excellence among other personnel in the organization; formulation of a proper crisis (risk) management plan; and contribution to efforts to work out solutions to PR questions in the organization.     
He went on to say in light of the fact that MSC has made the cut in various national and international awards, among them the Organizational Excellence Award and Iran National Award for Knowledge Management, the personnel of the company, including those at the Public Relations Department, go about their daily activities pursuing constant improvement of their performance.    
In line with the company’s goal and strategies, the Public Relations Department’s goals and strategies are laid down annually and are assessed on a monthly and quarterly basis, he said. “Furthermore, formulation of goals and strategies is handled in cooperation with the public relations’ manager, senior officials and experts. Then sessions are held to inform other personnel of the goals. After formulation, the company takes measures to identify the risks associated with the goals and define precautionary measures when it comes to high-stakes goals.”
The PR chief said Mobarakeh Steel Company has set up communication channels to meet the needs of itself, its audience and the beneficiaries as a whole. “To that end, MSC has released various publications, designed a website and created social media channels which help facilitate information dissemination and contacts with customers, suppliers and shareholders, and play a key part in establishing contact with society.”
This approach helps the company achieve the highest organizational excellence in terms of PR activities, Nazemi concluded.
