MSC increases production thanks to brilliant performance of staff in 1st half

In the first half of this year (started March 21, 2017) Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) posted a 13 percent increase in sponge iron production and a 15 percent increase in crude steel production over a similar period last year. The achievement came on the back of tireless efforts by MSC personnel, said MSC’s Chief Operating Officer Mokhtar Bakhshian.
He thanked the personnel for their performance and said staff at MSC made all-out efforts and cooperated closely to start the year with breaking the previous records in different units, and this helped several units perform better than expected in the six-month period.
He further said the hardworking personnel at Direct Reduction Units 1 and 2 could produce        3,711,779 tons of sponge iron in the six-month period, adding they posted a 12 percent growth in production over a similar period a year ago and materialized 101 percent of their envisioned plan. “These units also produced 3,154,071 tons of slabs, posted a 14 percent increase and fulfilled 106 percent of the plan in that period.” 
In the same period, industrious staff at the Hot Rolling Unit could materialize 107 percent of the plan by producing 2,608,411 tons of hot coils and registering a 2 percent growth over the corresponding period last year, Bakhshian said.   
The staff at the Cold Rolling Unit did their share and made achievements like other units at MSC, he said, adding the Cold Rolling’s Tandem Mill produced 654,724 tons of products, posted an 18 percent growth and fulfilled 102 percent of the plan. “The two-stand rolling mill produced 97,903 tons of products, materialized 98 percent of the plan and posted a 4 percent growth over the corresponding period a year earlier.”    
The official went on to say that the company produced 102,366 tons of products in the galvanized sheets line and fulfilled 103 percent of the plan. As for the coating sheets, the production stood at 54,965 tons with 95 percent of the plan being materialized, he said, adding these two units have posted a 4 and 2 percent growth, respectively.   
Bakhshian praised the strong performance of staff at the direct reduction of Saba Steel Complex and said it posted a 3 percent growth over the similar period last year and produced 581,102 tons of sponge iron this year.
In his report, Bakhshian hailed the stunning performance of hardworking personnel in Hormozgan Steel Company and said this company has made remarkable achievements and set new records in production since the start of this year. “This company’s Direct Reduction Unit produced 799,354 tons of sponge iron, posting a 29 percent increase over the similar period last year. The Casting Unit produced 692,271 tons of crude steel and registered a 30 percent growth. These production capacities helped Hormozgan Steel Company take a giant stride toward materialization of its annual goals and reaching its nominal capacity.”
In conclusion, he expressed hope that Mobarakeh Steel Group, which is the Middle East’s largest steelmaking group, can materialize its annual goals thanks to divine assistance and tireless efforts of its personnel.
