Production of special products for automakers helps MSC set new quality record

In a bid to win customer satisfaction and improve the overall performance of the company, workers at the Skin Pass and Temper Mill of the Cold Rolling Plant of Mobarakeh Steel Company (SMC) have managed to set a new monthly quality record of 99.57 percent in the 31 days to April 21, 2017.
Abdolrahim Sadeghi, who is in charge of the Skin Pass and Temper Mill lines of the plant, said the new record came hot on the heels of another quality record (an annual 98.87 percent last year), up from 98.86 the year before.
He said the achievement also came after the unit rolled out 105,250 tons of special products (MB for car bodies) in the 12 months to March 20, 2017 – a record in production of such items.
He described the unit as a key link in the production chain of cold-rolled items and said that these lines play a very important role in [maintaining and improving] the quality of the plant's products. Process control and compliance with instructions, timely repairs and effective contact with other lines are instrumental in ensuring good quality, he said.
In conclusion, Sadeghi credited a series of other factors for the breakthrough, chief among them: the decline in the number of emergency shutdowns, improved technical knowhow of the production staff, effective control and monitoring to ensure products are defect-free, the wholehearted support of the management, and cooperation between the technical and repair unit and the quality control office of the planning unit of the Cold Rolling Plant and all other units.
