Measures should be taken to produce special steel sheets which are used as coating in bodywork parts of vehicles and to launch the steelmaking unit at Sefid Dasht Steel Complex as soon as possible, said Managing Director of Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) Hamid-Reza Azimian during separate visits to Chaharmahal Bakhtiari Automotive Sheets Company (CBASCO) and Sefid Dasht Steel Complex.
After inspecting the production lines of Chaharmahal Bakhtiari Automotive Sheets Company, the MSC chief met with the company’s managers and staff members and thanked them for their performance. “Thanks to tireless efforts by staff members of this company, the automotive sheets Iranian carmakers need for the interior of their vehicles are produced locally and this is a major breakthrough for the country.”
He further said the company’s ongoing expansion projects should be completed soon so that Chaharmahal Bakhtiari Automotive Sheets Company, which is the only producer of galvanized auto sheets in the Middle East, can produce the bulk of special [galvanized] sheets used in the automotive industry.
To that end, the MSC chief said, necessary equipment has been purchased, among them, the automatic zinc coating machine, the 10-ton tensile test machine, and the automatic surface quality control, adding the country has also managed to indigenize part of the devices it needs in the auto sheet production process.
The managing director of the Mobarakeh Steel Group went on to say that Chaharmahal Bakhtiari Automotive Sheets Company’s expansion projects will be implemented in cooperation with Iran Khodro, SAPCO (Supplying Automotive Parts Company), MSC, and the company which is a party to the contract.
