All annual MSC goals to be realized this year: Vice-president of operations
Production of pellets by Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) this year [the 12 months to March 20, 2019] will hit 7.5 million tons, up to 2.7 percent more than originally planned, MSC vice-president of operations said.
Likewise, production of hot-rolled coils will exceed 6.4 million tons, which is more than the company’s stated goal for the year, Mokhtar Bakhshian further said.
He went on to say that production of cold-rolled and coated products is expected to stand at 1.555 million tons by the end of year, some 4 percent more than originally planned. “MSC does have the potential to further raise its production volume next year to meet market demand.”
Next year, Mobarakeh Steel Company plans to focus on production of special products needed by the automotive and oil and gas industries and used in sour gas environments, as well as on increasing production of hot-rolled coils less than 2 mm thick, he said.
This past year production of five new products with high added value was placed on MSC agenda, Bakhshian said. “One strategic product which is being produced on an experimental basis is used in sour gas environments and in production of oil and gas pipes.”
He further stated that MSC has also received orders for sheets used in production of pipes that channel sweet gas, water and other fluids and has delivered the orders.
The MSC vice-president of operations added that in a bid to maximally meet the needs of the local market next year, MSC aims to produce 700 thousand tons of slabs and 6.5 million tons of hot- and cold-rolled and coated products.
In conclusion, he thanked staff members of all plants and production lines as well contractors and suppliers for their contribution to the achievements of the giant steelmakers.
