Launch of Sangan concentrate plant, part of MSC’s macro goals

The speedy inauguration of a concentrate plant in Sangan region is one of the major goals of Mobarakeh Steel Company, said the managing director
Hamidreza Azimian made the remark in a gathering of his deputies and managers of various units and said when the company’s investment in this region bears fruit and the plant’s production line becomes operational, it will largely contribute to the supply of iron ore for Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC).
He referred to the successful [implementation of a] pellet producing project in Sangan and said efforts should be made to complete the steel chain in order to create greater added value. “To that end all plans in the company, including production and expansion, should come into line with MSC’s macro goals. We also need to pay attention to priorities and deadlines for the timely launch of projects. It goes without saying that the five-million-ton concentrate plant, when operational, can meet the needs of the five-million-ton pellet plant in Sangan and part of the needs of direct reduction units at Mobarakeh Steel Company.”
Given the gap between the workforce productivity rate in developed countries and that of third world and developing nations, Azimian said in order to measure up to international standards, MSC’s major goals, when it comes to employee productivity index, set a production target of 1,000 tons of steel per employee. “We hope to achieve this goal through optimized planning and enormous efforts of committed workforce.”
The MSC managing director also brought up efforts to maintain the company’s share of steel production in the country. “Currently the steel produced in Iran ranks tenth in the world and second among Islamic nations. To climb a notch and rank ninth in the world and narrow the gap between Iran and the first Muslim nation, we have to cooperate with state officials and related institutions, and implement and launch projects such as the comprehensive 10-million-ton steel project in the Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone in Hormozgan Province.”
